At Minimuds, we believe childhood is meant to be messy.
It’s meant for puddle jumping, muddy knees, wet grass picnics and wild outdoor adventures in every season and every kind of weather.
We design waterproof outerwear that helps children stay warm, dry and comfortable while they explore the world around them. Because when kids feel comfortable outdoors, their confidence grows, their curiosity expands and their love for nature begins to take root.
Born in the ever-changing alpine climate of regional Victoria, Minimuds was inspired by real families and real children who simply didn’t want to come inside when the weather turned. We saw a need for outerwear that could keep up: durable, practical and thoughtfully designed for active little bodies.
Our garments are made to slip easily over everyday clothes, with functional features that support independence and movement. Adjustable fits, easy-release clips, over-the-shoe ankle zips and sensory-friendly finishes all help children get ready for adventure quickly and comfortably.
We also believe in making safer material choices. Our waterproof range is made without PVC and PFAS, meaning there are no unnecessary “forever chemicals” sitting against your child’s skin, and less impact on the outdoor environments they love to explore.
Minimuds is about more than staying dry.

Our Founder Story
Minimuds was born from real life. Messy, beautiful and sometimes incredibly challenging.
Founder and designer Kim had always known that children’s clothing was where her creativity truly belonged. As a young fashion design student, she discovered that designing for kids allowed her to move beyond trends and fast-paced seasonal fashion, and instead focus on practicality, movement and imagination.
Years later, motherhood brought both joy and chaos. Raising three energetic boys largely on her own, Kim found herself navigating the everyday overwhelm that many parents know all too well. Life felt busy, reactive and at times completely exhausting.
Then everything changed.
A serious skate park accident involving one of her sons forced the family to pause and re-evaluate what truly mattered. While physical injuries healed, the experience reshaped their perspective on life. It became clear that they needed space, nature and time together to reconnect and move forward.
The family made the decision to return to the Alpine region of North East Victoria, a place that had always felt like home. Surrounded by mountains, changing weather and endless opportunities for outdoor adventure, a long-held idea began to take shape.
Kim realised that what families needed wasn’t just children’s clothing. They needed practical outerwear that allowed kids to stay outside longer. Gear that supported independence, comfort and freedom to explore in all conditions.
Minimuds was created to make outdoor play easier, less stressful and more joyful for families.
Today, the brand continues to be inspired by real children, real weather and real adventures. Every design reflects a belief that time in nature builds resilience, confidence and connection, for kids and for parents too.
